Technology & Agriculture hand in hand

One of the best initiatives under the guidance of Prabhakar Deshmukh, is the CROPSAP for Pest Management on major crops in Maharashtra. Earlier, the system was based on visual interpretations and monitoring. Data was not collected adequately in order to make analysis. This led to repeated losses and thus a serious step had to be taken in the form of CROPSAP project.

This project was undertaken in the backdrop of severe outbreak on soybean crop during the year 2008-09 in the state. For this, scientific software was developed to analyze the data on-line. Earlier, this was not the case and only visual observations were used to analyze whatever is required.
